9. Colca Canyon
I leave the coast today and head inland to the mountains. The road today will take me very high. Colca Canyon is the deepest canyon in the world and OMG, it is deep. Surrounded my mountains and volcanos. But to get there I have to ride on a stunningly beautiful dirt road in the middle of nowhere and with nobody around. I spend lots of time above 4,000m today and I can feel the effect of high altitude.
