12. Down But Not Out
The ride north from the end of the road was uneventful and beautiful. The day was perfect. really enjoyed it. the next day I was heading to Argentina through another pass in the mountains. However, my bike stopped cooperate 14 km from the border in the middle of nowhere. There was no traffic here. I stopped the first car which came by after two hours. They sent a border guard patrol to rescue me. They took me 120 km back to the town. I hired a truck next day which took me to the bigger town with motorcycle shop. Diagnosis, a dead battery. Replaced it and bike is running again. I spent three days over here and I'm ready to get on the road again. The next is another attempt to get to Argentina. I hope I will be more successful than the last time.
Old but reliable
in the middle of the town, incredibly clear water

another hungry friend
Patagonian Salmon at the end of the road
the end of Carretera Austral is it the exact latitude as my hometown. Except I have to walk upside down here.

freshly grated gravel Road, my favorite. NOT!
You can't get away from the dust.
This is what happens if you don't tie your bike properly.
