Finally I went to do what was the reason to come here. Shooting the night skies. Even though it is not the best time of the year to see the Milky Way as the main core which is brightest and the most colourful is not visible, it was spectacular regardless. The lack of a pollution of any kind makes this a primary spot for astronomy. There are few dozens of large observatories dotted the peaks in Atacama Desert. The best astrological equipment is here. Unfortunately, the public visits of some of the observatories were suspended during the Pandemic and have not been restarted yet. But with a good lens you can get spectacular images.
