10. Swimming In The Desert
We went to see if Lagoon about 40 km from San Pedro in the middle of the desert. They're about five of them but you can swim only in one. the water is surprisingly cool and refreshing. And salty. It is so salty. He would have to work really hard if you would like to drown yourself there. You can lie on your back and pretend you are a sea otter. They even have showers over there but I waited until I got home. My whole body was white. I looked like I have a leprosy. They were supposed to be flamingoes there but we saw only three in five different lagoons. It is amazing that you can find water even in the middle of the dry place on Earth.
Chilean ran their parks like a military camp. You won't get in one minute before the opening hour.
There's nobody around for 30 km but we can't get in.
Finally inside, this supposed to be full of flamingoes
no flamingoes here
or here
there is one
he must be lonely
that's not a flamingo that's Terry floating around
I think he fell asleep
I just woke him up
it's time to see other lagoons
this one is freshwater lagoon fed from the mountains in the background
it looks like it doesn't belong in the desert
That's the entire lagoon
it looks nice
that's the big Lagoon, which is almost completely dry now
it looks surreal
not much water left here
looks like snow, but it is salty
there are some cool lines to take pictures of.
A lot of salt here.
The soil around the lagoons is hard as a rock
I wouldn't want to be stuck here for too long
Terry is thinking what the heck am I doing here?
